May28th Wednesday
The hike planned for the day was to be Razors Edge but with the rain and the low cloud cover we went to Yamnuska Natural Area. This area is in the shadow of Mt. Yamnuska. The official parking lot is opposite the Francis Cook Landfill Site on Hwy 1A. The trail starts just up the landfill site road.
The area has many hidden features. There are three lakes, twin lakes, large tree and a hidden valley.
The area ranges from open pasture to typical mountain terrain.
Crescent Lake is the largest and a good water fowl spotting site.
Hidden Valley runs under the cliffs of Goat Mt.
Distance return 9 km Time return 3 hrs ( inc 30 min lunch ) Elevation gain 195 m Total height 1410 m
