Seventy Buck ridge to Eagle Hill

June 16th 2021

Nice hike in the foothills off Hwy 68 Sibbald Creek road. Drive approx 10 KM from Hwy 40. The name Seventy Buck comes from a couple of guys looking for cattle one of them lost his wallet with seventy bucks in. The tale says it was never found. Keep your eyes open. The route we took went up the old logging road to Eagle Hill. Easy walking with wild flowers on the slope up to eagle Hill. At this point you can see Moose Mountain and Cox Hill. On the way up we saw no trail going towards Seventy Buck so we went down the reserve fence line into Buck Valley and back up the other side. At the top turned left through clear cut to Seventy Buck Ridge. Nice walk along the escarpment back to the road
