The Orphan

Getting on the ridge with the Orphan in sight. Head for the Col and up right

July 4th 2019

The Orphan is a Daffern hike also Spirko has a write up as well. Here is my view. Start from Spray Lakes road at the Driftwood Day Use Boat launch. Park at the far end because you will be walking down the road to the creek across the road. Find faint trail out of parling lot to road. Follow Creek until fork. Lot,s of flags and cairns indicate to take the left fork. Now leave the rubble of the creek and head up and up. Trail comes and goes some like to cling to the trees others like the slab if dry. Near the top see some large rocks  stay left of them to get on a miner ridge that leads to the Col with the Orphan on the right. Come back down the same way but there is some scree to make it easier. Nice views of the Three Sisters and Wind Ridge into the Bow Valley.
