Windtower Mountain is reached from the West Wind Pass Trail. The pull off is about 1 km from the Driftwood Day Use area on the right. The trail start across the road. The same route is also used for the approach to The Rimwall scramble. To reach the turn to The Wintower go 2 km to just shy of the West Wind Pass lookout. Follow the trail to the right and travel back under the ridge to come around to the long slope up to the summit.

I have now experienced why all the names in this area have the name Wind. The day of our trip it was howling. I did not know if we were going to make it to the summit.

There is a bit of scrambling but nothing to hard and the trail is well-marked.

At this point the wind was really blowing and was too cold to take many pictures. The good part was that the wind was at our backs.
