Sunshine Village first run on Goats Eye
December 19th Friday.
Sunshine Village opened up Goats Eye Chair lift on Thursday afternoon for the start of the season. The conditions on Friday morning were poor. The powder of the previous day was now hard crud. Only Sunshine Coast was open from the top of the lift and was wind blown and icy.Rolling Thunder,Scapegoat and Gladerunner were crud mixed with small trees. I still enjoyed the pleasure of some different runs and Goat Glades was nice as usual.
It was the cold windy weather mixed with the difficult conditions that moved us on to Tee Pee Town.The snow was great on TP Main chutes but due to the cold wind on the lift I only managed two runs.
Conditions off the Divide Chair were in good condition with some nice loose powder. SouthDivide moguls were in great condition. The Trail crew were taking down the snow fences in the Angel Flight area so expect that to open this weekend. This allow all of the runs to be open for Christmas.
The newly opened runs off Angel Chair, Ecstasy and World Cup had hardened up but at least this gives access to TeePee Town.
