At Sunshine Village Banff the weather conditions have been un-seasonable warm this past week with only a few centimeters of new snow. In the Bow Valley temperatures reached 10c. On Tuesday when we were at Sunshine the cloud was to low to get up to the top of Lookout Mountain and ski the Divide. Today Friday was a perfect day and conditions were great. The South Divide Run and South 90 are now open as well as Angel Flight. I am guessing ( incorrectly as of Tuesday 16th it is still not open )that on the week-end they opened up the Lady’s Downhill Run through the narrow Cat Track, so a run will be open under the Angel Chair with access to the Tee-Pee Town lift. Goats Eye has been skiing really well and last Tuesday although the Divide and most of the Village was in cloud it was in open skies. This Friday the lower portion was suffering a little from the warm weather making the Sunshine Coast Road at the bottom a bit icy. I heard reports that Lake Louise was in worse shape with the melting and night-time freezing conditions. No upper runs are open yet on Goats Eye. The Sunshine Coast is the run down to the Cat Track. Then Wildfire,Rolling Thunder,Scapegoat and maybe Gladerunner. Scapegoat is the best run Gladerunner is a bit thin watch for natural hazards (Rocks).
