Stoney Squaw is a small mountain overlooking Banff on the east side of Mt Norquay Ski Resort. The trail head is just at the turn into the parking lot on the right, as shown above. The trail was well packed down and boots would have been ok if they had cleats on, for the descent. The trail rises steeply all the way to the lookout. Before the summit there is a great view of Banff. At the lookout views of the Bow Valley and Cascade mountain dominate. The trail is mostly in the trees on the way up and all the time on the way down. The trail ends at the back of the Norquay Ski Chalet or between the chalet and the lift.
