Second major turn off the road
June 25th Wednesday
Pigeon Mountain trail head is up the road from Dead Mans Flats. Drive up past the quarry to Banff Gate Resort turning into the parking lot. The parking is also used for Skogan Pass, Centenial Ridge and Wind Ridge. Walk down the trail and follow the power line .The trail sometimes leaves the line but it is always obvious and always a road until you reach the point as shown in the above photo. This trail then climbs up through the treees until breaking out into the meadow.

The meadow is a great place to see lots of early flowers. Forget-Me-Not’s and Shooting Stars blanket the meadow

The trail is well definded the whole way. We had rain and cloud so views were not at the best.
