Snowboarder buried under Wawa Chair
Well what an opening at Sunshine Village with over 40 cm of fresh snow and none of it groomed it was a day of powder turns. The hill opened with four lifts Wawa, Strawberry, Jack Rabbit and Wolverine. We started on Wolverine and only had to wait a couple of minutes to get on the lift. The first run was under the chair but as we were first to get there it was hard work to push through the deep snow. After trying all the runs off Wolverine we went over to Wawa . The chair was busy but moved well but the snow was now mostly tracked out. Next went over to Strawberry and found some nice turns off towards the Great Divide Chair. All in all a great opening day. May be this will be the year of the snow. Standish should open soon the lift was running all day with the crews going up to get things ready.
