Mt Peechee’s summit is at 2919 m on the ridge on this blog we were 4 km and 560 m from the summit. I cannot find any information on line of anyone summiting this peak. I think we could have gone further but have no idea whether you could reach the summit from this route.
To enjoy this nice ridge the access is from Hwy 1 just past the Park Gate going towards Banff. At about 2 km there is a turn into a parking area that Carrot Creek is hiked from. Walk through the open area and follow the trail towards the creek. The trail enters trees and then drops down into the creek. See the pictures of the creek. Once across the creek follow the trail and forge up the ridge through downed trees. After about 0.7 km from the creek find a rough log seat. At 1 km the first ridge fades away and at a cairn turn right and head up to the main ridge. There is no trail so plan your route from afar. Then follow up through trees before coming to the more exposed rocky ridge. Return the same way. Great views of the Rundle Range and down the valley towards Banff.
Distance return 11.0 km Time return 5:30 hrs ( inc 30 min lunch ) Elevation Accumulated gain 1000+ m Elevation to Summit 965 m Summit height 2345 m
