It was a surprise to find Lake Louise was opening before Sunshine a week earlier than planned. Cold temperatures had helped to make more snow than normal.So we went and checked it out. No natural snow but it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and few people. No Wiwaxy 500 race on today. The condition were as expected hard racing snow. Sharp edges and narrow skis the order of the day. All in all a pleasant start to the season.
