The High Rockies Trail is a Provincial and Kananaskis Country initiative in conjunction with the Alberta TrailNet Society. See this link for a full explanation http://kananaskistrails.com/high-rockies-trail/2015/ I am writing about each section as it is developed.
An early snowfall nearly made this a snowshoe. In fact there were cross country tracks down the trail. I have now snowshoed from the Goat Creek end.https://willski.ca/snowshoeing-high-rockies-trail/ This part of the High Rockies trail starts or ends at the Three Sisters Dam at the Spray Lakes West Campsite. The route simple follows the old power line or logging road to the new bridge across the Goat Creek. There are numerous trails back to the Goat Creek Day Use Area. Along the way there are great views of the Big Sister and the Ehagay Nakoda Range. Goat Pond and Goat Creek.
Distance 10.5 km Time return 3.5 hrs ( inc 30 min lunch ) Elevation Accumulated gain 110 m
