Belmore Browne from the Powderface Road

The Powder Face Road re-opened in 2016 after the 2013 floods . This is a rough narrow logging road that is 12 km from Hwy 40 and Hwy 68 Sibbald Creek Road. Then it was at the 14 km marker that we saw the cairn on the roadside for Belmore Browne Peak. The Powderface Trail would eventually come out on the Elbow Falls Trail Road from Bragg Creek. The road is narrow so we had to park up the road from the cairn and walk back. Then it is a drop down to the creek and cross. Continue on and cross a larger creek on logs. Follow the cut area until two large cairns appear. DO NOT make the mistake we did by turning right. ( There is some confusion here because after looking at Dafferns Blog they have this as the turn ) UPDATE. I have re-done this hike and now there is no more confusion. At the cairn turn right and look for flagging on your left. The trail is now getting worn in. My first visit was after the road had been closed for two years and the trail was over grown. All the routes work but the shortest is to take the turn at the cairn. It follows an old over grown cut line and comes out at the creek. I Continue on following the wide cut strip until the creek. This was are return route. Anyway after realizing we could not follow the first creek we headed up through dense trees. After about two hours we were at the place where the photo with the arrows shows. It all worked out as we traversed left under the cliffs of Belmore Browne and came back to the easy side to scramble to the summit. Just the last 25 m is a hands on scramble and that can mostly be missed by keeping left. After the summit we went down the col and up to another unnamed peak before coming down a gully and into the valley with the creek.
