Bill enjoying his first day out. Winter Nov 12 2015

Doing the double. Cross Country skiing and Downhill in one day. Starting out at Moraine Lake Road in the morning and finishing with a few runs at lake Louise Ski resort. How lucky we were they had just track set the road the day before and every piece of road was in perfect condition. No pole plans through to tarmac and the sun was shining with no wind. About -7 C at the parking lot but a lot colder and windy by the time we reached the end of track. It was a long run out for the first time on the skinny skis and the 8.5 km went on for ever. Lots of Nordic Center and Canadian National team athletes out whizzing by. We were back to change our gear by 2:00pm and drove over to the Ski Hill. The first thing we hear as we got ready was ” you came to late it is real icy now ” Oh well we had to give it a go. The snow looks great as you fly up on the Grizzly Chair. The run looks a bit narrower than normal. Off the lift and down we went. I was snow boarding and hit ice after about 100m and was on my bum. This happened two more times on the way down. Greg said a third of the way down ” if your happy with one run so am I. ” So one run was all we did and saved our bodies for another day. Thank goodness we had such a good time at Moraine Lake.
