Lake Louise Spring Skiing

April 2cnd Tuesday. Wow how conditions can change in a week. The warm weather coupled with the sunny skies for days on end have put a big dent into the snow. I expected it to be a bit cruddy and frozen but was not anticipating the large bear spots all over the place. If this carries on the number of days left in the season are limited.

The Grizzly Gully one of the first areas to see the sun and show signs of wear is in better condition than you might expect.

Best skiing of the day and the first time in this area this year was of the Platter into 125 Big Horn and 126 The Chimney.

They call this area the Ultimate Steeps. In good light and snow conditions it’s not that bad but what a pain in the butt having to use The  Summit Platter ( pardon the pun )

We did not try Paradise Bowl but Larry had a rundown 101 Fallen Angel off The Wall. It looked to intimidating for me but the report was the snow was good.
