December 15th 2016

Second visit to Lake Louise this season and although there has not been too much snow since I was at The Lake in November condition are much improved. Larch and Temple Lodge were not open last visit so we headed up the Grizzly Express Gondola to go down Ptarmigan run to Temple Lodge and on to Larch. Ptarmigan run was a long first run of moguls. Larch Poma was also moguls. Over to Paradise Bowl and more moguls but great soft snow. Checked out Big 7 and found great soft snow at the top but had to watch out for rocks lower down, but that is always the case. The afternoon was spent on the front side going up the Summit Platter and coming down Outer Limits. All good snow. We did not have time to check out any of the Whitehorn runs of the backside but some are open. Juniper run, at the end of the day back to the lodge, was in good condition.
