Farewell to Another Season at Lake Louise

Larch looking through to Mt Temple

Friday May 5th

The season ends on Sunday and it has been a great year. Really getting a handle on the vast expanse of runs at Lake Louise. This season went down all the backside gullies from the Whitehorn Platter lift. Ticked another one of the bucket list when I went down ER6. Today the temperature was as high as 18c and the snow became very soft. I think it went passed the sticking stage to almost like soft powder. Larch was great in the morning. The front side from the Top of the world Express down to the Glacier Express was pretty sketchy. Below the Glacier the snow was soft and you could really lean into your turns. Here’s to more snow next year.

All closed off for avalanche danger in Grizzly Gully. Still great snow coverage.
